I really wanted to write this review because I know a lot people rely on real life pictures and experiences to make decisions when buying something online. I have to say I was skeptical when my daughter insisted on getting this dress because of the price. Dresses like this are normally twice this much. I was expecting something less and when it came I fully expected it to be a wrinkled mess and to have a disappointed teenager. But boy was I surprised.APPEARANCE: It came out of the box and the tulle was not all crinkled up so you can tell it has not been packed away for a long time waiting for shipment or in shipment. The color is a beautiful shade of lilac. There is a satiny underskirt so it’s not itchy. It has a lace up back (a nice fabric ribbon) that allows for a little (not a lot) of tightening/loosening the fit of the dress. I don’t think you could take it up or bring it down a size without making the lacing look bad. There is a panel attached to the one side in the back that covers the skin under the laces. The only suggestion I have for this is that there be a snap on the opposite side to hold it in place. We may add it before prom.FIT: We measured my daughter (bust, waist, hips) and ordered her size based on that and it fits perfectly. She is 5’3” and we got a size 6. This did come with a hoop skirt but we didn’t like the way it made the dress look so we got our own crinoline (picture with separate crinoline) With either, this dress just hits the floor. Adding a 3” heel will make it the perfect fit.OVERALL: I would recommend this dress for sure. It is well made and the price is outstanding. With prime shipping it arrived within 3 days. My daughter could not be happier with this purchase.The one thing that could be pointed out is that there may be an issue with pickiness under the arm for someone who is sensitive to that because there is beading/appliqué work under the arms on the sides. It doesn’t seem to bother my daughter but I wanted to point that out.
